Battle of Marston Moor 1644 -Battlefield Walk

Join Louise Whittaker and Chris Rock to hear the story of the 1644 battle that was fought between the Royalists and the Allied forces of Parliament and the Scottish Covenanters.
Permission has been obtained to walk up to 'Cromwell's Plump' as well as down Moor Lane, which allows us to view the battlefield from both the Allied and Royalist perspectives.
This event is free to Battlefields Trust members. We ask adult non-members to make a donation towards the work of the charity.
Walk length approximately 90 minutes over 1 mile, includng a hill climb, with no shelter.The going underfoot is uneven and possibly muddy/slippery. Please bring suitable clothing and stout footwear.
Meet at 10:30am at the battle monument on Tockwith Road, YO26 7PJ. Limited layby parking/roadside parking. No toilet facilities.
The nearby churches of All Saint's Long Marston YO26 7LQ and St Helen's, Bilton in Ainsty YO26 7NL will both be open on the day with small battle exhibitions.
