Siege of Liverpool 1644

A guided walk held on the 382nd Anniversary of the unsuccessful assault on Liverpool by Prince Rupert’s army on 10 June 1644. Although the assault was unsuccessful Liverpool did fall to the royalists in the early hours of the next day.

Paul Wright will lead a walk that will explain the siege and visit some of the sites associated with it.

The walk will last approximately one and a half hours.

Suitable for the wheelchair users.

Meet at 19:00 by the Queen Victoria Monument, Derby Square, Liverpool, L2 1AB. A few minutes walk from  James Street Merseyrail station.
