Battle of Fulford 1066

Join the Yorkshire Region of the Battlefields Trust to explore one of the three battles of 1066 which saw the Viking invaders defeat an Anglo Saxon army, forcing King Harold to journey north and leave England’s southern shores vulnerable to Norman invasion.
Chas Jones will lead this walk of the least famous of the battles of the 1066 campaign.
Meet at 11:00 am at the Fulford playing field, opposite Fulford Cemetery (YO19 4QG). There is plenty of on-road car parking plus there is a P&R bus stop (Silver Line) at Germany Beck, right beside the playing field. Walking boots recommended. Walk is mostly on good paths and covers 3km, lasting about 2 hours.
