Saturday 24th June 2023

A talk and guided walk of the key sites of the Siege of Chester 1645-46, including access to the King Charles Tower, the breaches and the castle. The talk will include an explanation of the Battle of Rowton Heath, the great assault and long siege, as well as the strategic consequences. The talk and walk will be led by Bob Burgess and Charles Cordell.

The meeting point will be inside the King Charles (Phoenix) Tower City Walls, Chester CH1 2JH at 10:30am and will finish at the High Cross in the centre of Chester at 12:30. The route will involve some steep steps and is, unfortunately, not suitable for wheelchairs.
