Battle of Adwalton Moor 1643

Join historian and author David Cooke for a walk around the British Civil Wars battlefield, where the Parliamentarian forces under the Fairfaxes’ father and son faced the Earl of Newcastle’s Royalists for control of the West Riding of Yorkshire.

Meet at 10:30am outside Drighlington Community Sports Club, Moorland Road BD11 1JZ. Walk is 90 minutes approx, and includes moorland as well as paths; stout footwear required.

This walk is free. Voluntary donations towards the work of the Battlefields Trust are welcome.

There is a small car park at the sports club, or on road parking. Toilets and cafe refreshments are available at the sclub.
