Sunday 3rd August 2025

Whilst Chester was under siege from September 1644 to February 1646 the year 1645 stands out as one during which events became particularly intense. Especially during the period of September and October 1645 when three storms were carried out and an associated battle was fought.

The guided walk will explore this intense period of the siege and will explore the physical evidence of the fighting.

Walk includes restricted width walls, steps and some uneven ground. Meet 11:00am at the Phoenix Tower (King Charles Tower,  City Walls Chester CH1 2JH.
