The possible battlefield at Middleton Cheney

Battle of Middleton Cheney 1643

Sunday 8th May 2022

Join Gregg Archer on a new walk for the Mercia Region that will view the ground just outside Banbury where the royalists were victorious against a parliamentarian force from Northampton in May 1643.

Meet outside the main entrance to the Primary Academy School on Main Road, Middleton Cheney (OX17 2PD).

This walk will be limited to 30 places and will take place twice on the day in two slots at 10.00am and 1.30pm. Places on this walk will need to be booked in advance.

The walk will take place over fields and roads and that appropriate footwear and clothing is recommended.

The Mercia Region is working with the local community in Middleton Cheney to install an information board about the battle in 2023.  We have therefore decided to make this a fundraising walk to support this project and we suggest Battlefields Trust members and non-members make a donation of £5 per person (children excluded).

For further details or to book a place on the walk (please say which time you would prefer) contact Gregg using the details below
