Battle of Fulford 1066 Events

19-22 September 2024

Chas Jones, who led the Fulford battlefield project, will carry out several free events on this important precursor to the battles of Stamford Bridge and Hastings.

Thursday 19th September 7:30pm, Talk: "The evidence that identified the Fulford battle site" Venue: Fulford Social Hall, School Lane, York YO10 4LS. (Doors open from 7pm).

Friday 20th September (Battle anniversary), 12noon. Fulford long walk (4 hours) 

Saturday 21st September, 2pm. 2 hour tour of the battlesite.

Sunday 22nd September, 2pm. Fulford long walk (4 hours).

Walks start at Fulford playing field, opposite Fulford cemetery, Fordlands Rd, York YO19 4QG

NB: Walks will involve some uneven and possibly muddy ground. Stout footwear required.
