Friday 6th October 2023
Enemies at the Gate: Castles and Sieges in the Middle Ages
Castle Hill Baptist Church, Warwick 4.30pm
Buried beneath the crumbling grey walls of England’s castles lie some of the most colourful stories in history – tales of triumph and disaster, courage and cowardice, loyalty and betrayal, ingenuity and stupidity. Julian Humphrys takes an entertaining yet scholarly look at English castles and how they have been besieged, from the early Middle Ages to the Renaissance.
