Battle of Stow on the Wold 1646
Saturday 21st March 2026
2026 marks the 380th anniversary of the battle of Stow on the Wold. To mark this occasion the Stow on the Wold Civic Society has organised a march through the town square (GL54 1AF) at around 11:00am by a small group from the Sealed Knot followed by a commemoration at St Edward's Church (GL54 1AB) ending around 11:45am. The Sealed Knot procession will leave from Stocks Green (the grassy area containing the historic village stocks across from St Edward's Hall, The Square, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cheltenham GL54 1AF)
The annual Battlefields Trust walk of the battlefield will take place after this event. It will leave from Stocks Green (see above for location) at 1:30pm.
The walk will focus on the revised location of the battlefield and will last around one and a half hours and cover a distance of just over one mile ending at St Edward's Church.
