Battlefields Trust National AGM and Conference 2027

Friday 2nd April to Sunday 4th April 2027

The National AGM and Conference 2027, will be held at the All Saints Hotel, Fornham, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP28 6JQ, offers a unique, immersive experience of the nationally – and indeed, internationally - significant site and battle of Fornham, of 1173, which was the major turning point in the Great Revolt against Henry II.

The All Saints’ Hotel Conference Centre is located right in the centre of the battlefield itself – a first for any BT National Conference.

The Saturday of the Conference involves in-depth, detailed analysis and differing interpretations of the battle; and the voluntary visits on the Friday afternoon provide a tour of Bury St Edmunds great Abbey of St Edmund, which sent royalist knights and Edmund’s talismanic banner to the battlefield; as well as an examination of artefacts and local history displays at Moyse’s Hall Museum.

On the Sunday, there is a visit and conducted tour of the world-famous awe-inspiring Anglo-Saxon royal burial site at Sutton Hoo, home to one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time.
