The Battle of Winceby
The Battle of Winceby was fought in 1643. It started just north-west of Winceby village and reached its conclusion at Slah Hollow in the south-west. It was decisive in securing Parliamentarian control of Lincolnshire. You can find out more about the battle by visiting the information board in the lay-by of the B1195 about 1km along Slash Lane towards Horncastle.
