Second Battle of Newbury 1644

Simon Marsh will lead a walk across the western side of the battlefield, examing the parliamentarian attack on Speen and the breakthrough onto Speenhamland which almost resulted in the capture of King Charles I.

Meet at Speen Recreation Ground, Speen (RG14 1UD) at 10:30am on Sunday 31st October 2021.

The walk will last for around two to two and a half hours and will go ahead only if Covid restrictions allow.
