Memorial Notes:

In 1674 children's bones were found in the Tower of London. These were judged to be those of King Edward V and his younger brother, Richard Duke of York, - the Princes in the Tower - who some historians have said were murdered on the orders of their uncle, Richard Duke of Gloucester, subsequently King Richard III, to allow his usurpation of the throne. On the orders of King Charles II, the bones were buried in the Lady Chapel in 1678 and the monument erected.
