The information boards at Towton Battlefield follow the traditional narrative of the battle. This largely follows the account of the Tudor chronicler Edward Hall with embellishments by 19th-century historians like Thomas Dunham Whitaker and Alexander Leadman. The battle interpretation is not corroborated by the 15th-century accounts (David Grummmitt, The Wars of the Roses; Volume 1, 1455-1461, The Triumph of York (Helion & Co, 2025)).
