Big Battlefield Walks Weekends 2025

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Register of Historic Battlefields in England, which was established in June 1995. To celebrate this milestone, the Battlefields Trust and its partner organisations, the Northamptonshire Battlefields Society and the Tewkesbury Battlefield Society, are organising a series of battlefield walks in September 2025.

These are free to attend but are limited to 30 people per walk (Lansdown will be less). Tickets are available from Eventbrite via the Event pages on the Battlefields Trust website at https://www.battlefieldstrust.com/event.asp?EventID=1530 .

The battlefields which the Trust and its partner organisations will be walking include:

7 September 2025: Tewkesbury 1471

13 September 2025: Hopton Heath 1643, Northampton 1460, Otternburn1388,  Edgcote 1469, Maldon 991, Lansdown 1643

14 September: 2025: Winwick 1648, Civil War Newark and the Battle of Newark 1644

21 September 2025: Civil War Newark and the Battle of Newark 1644, Ethandun 876, First Newbury 1643, Rowton Heath 1645, Myton 1319
