Memorial Notes:

Edward Noel died at Oxford on 8 March 1643, the discrepancy with the inscription reflects the new year started on Lady Day (25 March) in the seventeenth century rather than 1 January. Noel's funerary monument is accompanied by that of his wife's which mentions their two sons, Baptiste and Henry, both of whom fought for the royalist cause during the Civil War.
