First battle of St Albans 1455 - WAITLIST IN OPERATION
Sunday 13th September 2026
Join the Battlefields Trust Beds, Herts and Middx region for a walk around the battlefield that saw the opening engagement of what was to become the Wars of the Roses, when Richard, Duke of York attacked King Henry VI and the Lancastrians who were in the town.
Meet at 2.00 p.m. at the St Albans Museum + Gallery, St Peter's Street, St Albans, AL1 3DH.
The walk will last approximately two hours and will be on pavements or hard surfaces. There will also be a trip – by stairs or lift – to the top of a multi-storey car park for a birds-eye-view of part of the battlefield.
Parking is available just off the city centre in the Maltings and Drovers Way car parks.
