Battle of Lansdown Hill 1643

Saturday 13th September 2025

Join Ian Chard to explore this important Civil War battlefield where Sir William Waller's parliamentarian army where pushed off Lansdown Hill by Sir Ralph Hopton's determined Cornish troops.

The walk will commence at 11:00am and last around three and a half hours. Meeting location will be determined by numbers wanting to take part as parking is at a premium on and around Lansdown Hill. The organiser will provide details of the meeting place once he has a better idea of those wanting to participate in the walk. Places on the walk will be limited, so early booking is advisable.
