The battle of Farndon and the siege of Holt 1643
1st September 2024
A guided walk led by Paul Wright and Dr Andrew Abram (author of the book about Sir William Brereton's Cheshire army More Like Lions than Men) looking at the 1643 Civil War battle that was fought for control of the bridge, as well as the other actions that took place there, and the related siege of Holt Castle.
Meet in the small car park adjacent to the bridge on the Farndon side of the River Dee (CH3 6PU) at 10:30.
