Battle of Northam 1069 talk and walk

Everyone knows the battle of Hastings, but what started in 1066 ended in Northam Parish. Join author Nick Arnold for a talk and guided walk over the battlefield at Northam. Find out what really happened in the ultimate showdown in June 1069, then see the Norman killing fields for yourself.

A 40-minute talk will be followed by an approximately 2-mile walk, easy but with some moderate slopes.

Meet at 2pm at the Small Marquee, Skern Lodge, Appledore, Devon, EX39 1NG

This ticketed event is being run jointly by the Appledore Book Festival and the Battlefields Trust.  Public tickets costing £10 are now sold out, but there are a limited number of free tickets available to Battlefields Trust members.  These should be requested via Simon Marsh using the contact details below by 10 September 2023.  Simon will confirm receipt of your ticket request and ensure your name is passed to the event organiser. Any unused tickets will be passed back to the Appledore Book Festival for sale.
