Aldbourne Chase 1643

Sunday 16th September 2012

Aldbourne Chase (1643) Sunday 16 September 2012

Author of 'Gloucester and Newbury 1643' Jon Day will lead a walk across this important cavalry action which allowed the royalists to block the parliamentarian advance at Newbury and brought about the battle there. The walk is around 3.5 miles across rough terrain and numbers are limited to 15 due to parking restrictions. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The walk will end in Aldbourne with a pub lunch. Meet in Aldbourne at 10:00 for a short drive in three cars to the walk start point. Those wishing to attend should contact Simon Marsh on 01844-274112 or mercia@battlefieldstrust.com and he will provide details of the initial meeting place and any further details required.
