THE BATTLEFIELDS TRUST campaigns for the conservation and enhancement of battlefields across the UK. The Trust is working in collaboration with various national and local heritage organisations to achieve these objectives. For more information about the work of the Trust CLICK HERE or email: national.coordinator@battlefields trust.com

ENGLISH HERITAGE is the organisation with national responsibility for the conservation of battlefields in England. They maintain the Register of Historic Battlefields. The Inspector with national responsibility for the topic is Dr Paul Stamper, but casework is normally dealt with by the relevant regional team of English Heritage.

HISTORIC SCOTLAND is the organisation with national responsibility for the conservation of battlefields in Scotland. The Trust will be working closely with them from autumn 2004 onwards to define the battlefield resource in the Scotland.

CADW is the organisation with national responsibility for the conservation of battlefields in Wales.

ALGAO 
Much of the day to management responsibility for battlefields in England rests with the local archaeological curators in the relevant County, District or Unitary Authorities.
