bypass construction
The northern by-pass for Evesham, under construction in 2004, where it leaves the line of The Squires. Looking north west along The Squires, known in the early medieval period as the Salt Street. This was probably the route along which Edward's army advanced to deploy on Green Hill. In the far distance are the wooded slopes of Craycombe Hill, to the left of which, between the road and river, is Mosham Meadow where Edward's troops rendezvoused, on its march from Worcester, before advancing to deploy on Green Hill.
