reverse S hedge
The royalist view of the parliament lines, along the hedgerow on the top of the rise, as they advanced to attack. To the right is another hedgerow which probably existed in 1642. It has a charachteristic reverse 'S' alignment where it follows the layout of the open field strips that still functioned at that time. Graveyard Coppice is just visible on the left.
