Battle of Stamford Bridge (1066)

On Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September the Battlefields Trust will be attending the 2018 Battle of Stamford Bridge Reenactment Weekend (Old Station, Church Road YO41 1DG), in Stamford Bridge from 11 - 4pm. There will be a stall and any members available to help out and volunteer are most welcome.

On the Sunday 30th (weather permitting) there will be a guided walk of the site and surrounding area led by Chris Rock, (Vice Chair Yorkshire Region Battlefields Trust and previous chairman and co-founder of the Battle of Stamford Bridge Heritage Society). The walk starts at 12 noon and the starting point is the Battlefields Trust marquee, the walk should last between 1 – 2 hours and sturdy walking footwear is recommended. The walk is free to Trust members.  Non-members will be requested to make a £5 donation towards the work of the Trust
