East Anglia Region Study Day
Saturday 18th February 2017
The Battlefields Trust East Anglia Region Study Day will be held on Saturday 18 February 2017 at the Cedars Hotel, Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 2AJ starting at 11am.
Speakers include:
Trust Development Officer Julian Humphrys on the Magna Carta Wars
Historian and author Michael Rayner on the Battle of Assandun
Battlefield archaeologist Sam Wilson. Some of you may have seen Sam recently with Alice Roberts on the BBC4 programme 'Digging for Britain'.
The Trust poet-in-residence Clare Mulley will also be present to read some of her work and members will be able to purchase the collected poems Clare specially wrote for the Trust, 'Thorn Kings'.
(The Study Day is being staged as part of the Trust's ongoing HLF-funded project to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the Wars that followed the sealing of Magna Carta, and preserve and interpret sites relating to this and other conflicts. There will be an opportunity during the day to have your say on how this best can be done )
Admission is just £10.00 (free to Trust members)
