June 1643 was almost the high point of royalist success in the Civil War.  Learning of the delivery of a pay convoy with £20,000 being sent to the parliamentarian army at Thame, the King's dashing cavalry commander and nephew, Prince Rupert, set out from Oxford to intercept it.  Simon will explain what happened during the raid and impact the battle fought toward its end had on the parliamentarian war effort.
