The Battlefields Trust AGM and Annual Conference 2016

Friday 17th to Sunday 19th June 2016

‘The South Coast – Invaders and Defenders’

The 2016 AGM and Annual Conference will be held at Sussex University, (BN1 9RH), close to Brighton and Lewes. The proposed programme is as follows:

Friday lunchtime – meet at Sussex University.

Friday afternoon – optional extra trip to Eastbourne Redoubt and a restored Martello tower.

Friday evening – dinner on the campus followed by an after-dinner talk.

Saturday morning – Trust AGM, followed by a lecture and a buffet lunch.

Saturday afternoon – a tour over the Lewes 1264 battlefield.

Saturday evening – Trust annual dinner.

Sunday morning – check out of the university and a tour to Pevensey Castle.

Sunday afternoon – free time in Battle to arrange lunch. Meet in the grounds of Battle Abbey for a guided tour of the 1066 battlefield.

Sunday night – optional extra night's accommodation for anyone who prefers to travel home on the Monday.
