Battle of Adwalton Moor 1643

Sunday 28th June 2015

Military historian, battlefield guide and author David Cooke will be leading a walk around the Civil War battlefield of Adwalton Moor. A near run thing in which the Fairfaxes came close to defeating a much larger Royalist force, the parliamentarian defeat here and subsequent loss of control in Yorkshire prompted Parliament to ally with the Scots.

Meet at Drighlington Community Library, (postcode BD11 1JZ) at 10am, Sunday 28th June 2015. The walk will take approximately 2 hours and cover approximately 2 miles.

The walk is open to non-members of the Trust, through they will be asked to make a donation of £5 to support its charitable activities.  Battlefields Trust members will not be asked for a donation, but should bring their membership cards with them.
