Northamptonshire Battlefields Talks - Edgcote (1469)

Saturday 14th March 2015

2:30pm Saturday 14th March 2015 at Northampton Musuem and Art Gallery, Guildhall Road, Northampton, NN1 1DP

Edgcote is the undiscovered and little known battle of the Wars of the Roses where 5,000 Welshmen are said to have been slain and support for the Yorkist cause from Wales was much reduced. Author Harvey Watson, an expert on this period of military history, talks about the background to the battle, examines the theories about where and how it was fought, its significance for the outcome of the wars and why an argument over the favours of a Banbury barmaid had such an impact on its outcome.

Tickets £7.50 (£18.00 for all three talks) available from Northampton Museum and Art Gallery on telephone number 01604 837397
