Skirmish Hill, Melrose 1526

Ian Skinner from the Melrose Historical & Archaeological Association will be leading a walk around the site of this 1526 action when Walter Scott of Buccleuch with some 600 riders challenged Archibald Douglas, Earl of Angus over the custody of the boy king James V of Scotland.


Meet in front of Melrose Parish Church at 2.00 pm for a pleasant four-and-half mile ramble through stunning Borders countryside. Free to BT or MHAA members, non-members £3.00.
