Q-ships, Convoys and U-boats

Tuesday 17th June 2014

Tuesday 17th June 2014

Our image of the First World War is dominated by the Western Front and the slaughter in the trenches. It is easy to forget that Britain came close to being defeated because a new weapon, the German submarine, or U-boat, came close to cutting Britain’s vital life lines with the rest of the world.

Battlefields Trust Chairman, Frank Baldwin, will be leading a walk looking at the ships and naval memorials from the WW1 battle of the Atlantic. Meet at Tower Hill tube at 18.30 and disperse at the Embankment Tube 21.00
