'In at the death: the British army and the overthrow of Napoleon in 1814: Professor Charles Esdaile. Lunchtime talk hosted by Fusiliers Museum HM Tower of London.

This year is the bicentenary of the defeat of the Emperor Napoleon by the forces of the sixth coalition. The British and their Portuguese and Spanish allies invaded France across the Pyrenees in the last act of the Peninsular War.


Professor Charles Esdaile is Professor of Modern History at the University of Liverpool. He is a leading historian of the Napoleonic wars who has written extensively about the Peninsular War.
